In 2021, I have started to explain the geology that viewers see during live TV coverage of sports events. The flagship of this is the Geology of the Tour de France, for which we developed the website GeoTdF.org, where we place blogs written by leading geoscientists from all over the world about the geology of the stages of the most famous bike race in the world.

On the Twitter page @GeoTdF, we cover the geology of many bike races throughout the year, including the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta a España, but also the World Championships an other races all over the world.

In 2023, we added @Geo_Dakar, covering the geology of the most famous rally that runs through Saudi Arabia, and we started @Geo_OceanRace, which covers the marine geology and geophysics below the most spectacular sailing regatta around the world.
